Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Nanda signs up for a brand new course in IIM Ahmedabad: All about its eligibility criteria, fee structure and more



Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of superstar Amitabh Bachchan has recently grabbed the headlines for her exceptional academic milestones. She has churned out her path to enter the gates of one of the most prestigious B-schools in India: The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA). Navya has taken admission to the Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) in IIMA.
Navya took to Instagram to celebrate her academic milestone.Her post reads, “Dreams do come true !!!!!! The next 2 years… with the best people & faculty! Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) Class of 2026.”

However, Navya has not cracked the Common Admission Test (CAT), required to get admission to IIMs and other top-ranked B-schools. Well, that’s a story for another day. An IIMA Associate Professor Promila Agarwal took to Twitter (former X) and posted that she has got a solid CV and one does not necessarily need to crack CAT to get into IIM.
Her post reads, ” She got a solid CV btw*. U don’t necessarily need CAT. Link**. Irrespective, hats off to everyone for being courageous enough to sign up for rigorous program.”

Navya Nanda’s Educational Background

Well, Navya has a remarkable educational background indeed. She completed her schooling at one of the premier institutions of London, Sevenoaks School in London, an English boarding school. It is highly renowned for providing excellent education and has set a benchmark of excellence. Subsequently, in 2016, she navigated her path to another prestigious college in New York, Fordham University. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology and UX Design in 2020. Adding a feather to her cap, Navya recently enrolled in the BPGP at IIM Ahmedabad and called it a “dream come true moment”.

BPGP at IIM Ahmedabad: Duration, mode and course structure

Launched in January 2024, this is a two-year blended (hybrid) MBA programme that combines in-person campus sessions with live, interactive online classes. Designed for professionals with at least three years of experience, it primarily operates in a synchronous online mode, complemented by five on-campus modules. The programme emphasizes a case-based, applied learning approach to equip participants with the essential skills for success in today’s dynamic business landscape. The programme comprises 900 hours of classroom instruction and project work, totaling 36 credits. It includes on-campus modules, typically spanning one week per term.

IIM Ahmedabad: BPGP course eligibility criteria

Here is a broad overview of the BPGP course eligibility criteria:

  • Work Experience: Professionals and entrepreneurs must have at least three years of full-time work experience after completing their graduation by June 30, 2024.
  • Age Requirement: Applicants should be a minimum of 24 years old as of June 30, 2024 (born on or before June 30, 2000). There is no maximum age limit.
  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, Chartered Accountant (CA), Company Secretary (CS), Institute of Cost and Works Accountants (ICWA), or an equivalent qualification in any field. This requires a minimum of 15 years of education following the Indian education system (10 years of primary and secondary education, 2 years of higher secondary, and 3 or 4 years of undergraduate studies). Additionally, applicants should have achieved at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from a recognized university.

BPGP admission criteria

Aspiring candidates need to crack any of these exams to enroll to secure admission to this course at IIM Ahmedabad.

  • Online IIMA Admission Test (IAT) tailored for the Online MBA program, or
  • A valid Common Admission Test (CAT) score (from tests taken within the last five years, as of May 1, 2024), or
  • A valid Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)/Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score (from tests taken within the last five years, as of May 1, 2024).
  • The new GMAT Focus Edition exam scores will also be accepted.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview as part of the final selection process.
